Our story

Plainnest Bread Guild started as a porch project among neighbors who traded loaves and notes every Sunday. What began as a text thread grew into a community that spans cities and time zones.

Mission

We bring the craft of bread to every kitchen through friendly structure and curious play. We blend science you can trust with techniques you can adapt, so each bake is both repeatable and personal.

Values

  • Curiosity over perfection
  • Patience, not pressure
  • Shared knowledge, open hands
  • Local grains, global friends

Approach

Clear frameworks, flexible paths. Video, text walkthroughs, and “why it works” notes make each step stick.

Impact

Home ovens, micro-bakeries, and community centers have launched new traditions with our guides.

Team

Maya Rhodes — Head of Baking

Sourdough researcher-turned-baker who champions approachable fermentation and inclusive kitchens.

Leo Hart — Curriculum Lead

Former science teacher who turns bakerly jargon into memorable stories and visual frameworks.

Ari Nguyen — Community Host

Builds the weekly feedback circles and keeps our porch spirit alive across time zones.

Where we’re headed

We’re piloting a flour-exchange program and a “starter library” for classrooms. If you run a community kitchen or school, we’d love to talk.
